Good Christian Bitches Filming in Preston Hollow: It All Starts with Real Estate

I caught up with Kim Gatlin at her Park Cities house this weekend, which is on the market BTW, which was tough to do because her phone would not stop ringing. Busy lady! Production of her controversially-titled book — even her mom wouldn’t speak to her for a month when it came out — into an ABC-TV “dramedy” pilot starts — like TODAY. It’s unusual for an author to stay this involved with the show but as Kim explained, this is an unusual arrangement. Kim is creative consultant to the show, explaining the nuances of Dallas to the actresses. For example, on Sunday she picked up Jennifer Aspen and took her to the 11:00 at Highland Park Presby, then lunched at The Mermaid Bar.

“Darren (Star) and I just hit it off, and he gets that this, this community here, is a foreign world. I mean, every city has it’s collection of Good Christian Bitches, but here in Dallas, he calls me his research.”

Kim had dinner at Javiers Saturday night with Charles Pugliese, Darren’s right hand, the man who she says who urged Darren to look at her book.

“Charles told Darren, read this book — you’ve got to read this.”

How did this all start? Kim wrote her book, as we all know, and met Charles through her agent, William Morris, in New York City. A friend, Rosie Hygate, had been Houston-born Patrick Swayze’s personal assistant for years and Kim called Rosie, who put her in touch with Frederic Gaines, Patrick’s attorney, who advised her and set up an exhausting week of meetings with producers — five a day. On Thursday, Kim met Darren Star. But she was exhausted.

“I felt like I’d blown it,” she says. “I was that kind of tired where I couldn’t even think of my characters’ names.”

Before Darren left the meeting, she told him, I know I’ll probably never see you again, but I just want to thank you for meeting with me and let you know this is a dream come true for a gal from Dallas.

When can we meet again, asked Darren.

Oh, in case you want a copy of GCB to grab any celeb autographs while everyone’s in town, here’s where you can go shopping.

I have been following this story closely and am thrilled ABC decided to film the pilot in Dallas. Things were getting boring around here. We need some star-watching to spice things up! Thanks for the chat, Candy!

This could be the southern version of "Desperate Housewives & "Sex and the City" or southern "Dynasty". So many great stories to tell…I smell money! Can't wait. Thanks Kim!!

All we need is a bunch of rich bitches and whores to show us how to live our life yuuuch. When will Hollywood realize that these people are shallow and stupid, oh yeah when it gets bad ratings in two weeks and is canceled. I know someone in this show (if you want to call it that) and she is not rich but sure is a whore

I'm actually kinda stoked to see Dallas in the primetime spotlight again, there's alot to love here. Why should NYC and LA, get all the love?
