You Need A Ski Home: Bruce Willis Starts Shedding Sun Valley Real Estate

If you are looking for a great deal on a ski property this winter, maybe try Sun Valley, Idaho. Agents tell me the market there is very soft, particularly in the $3 million plus market. Bank owned props are giving everyone — condos, fractionals– a run for their money. Which means, of course, it’s time to go shopping!

Actor Bruce Willis is shedding his Idaho portfolio piece by piece. First, he’s listed his Sun Valley restaurant and bar called The Mint, now reduced to a bargain of $4.5 million from the summer price tag of $6 million. And he’s also listed his 20 acre lakefront ranch in Hailey for $15 million. Hailey is a bedroom community about 11 miles south of Ketchum that was hit hard by the bust, but loaded with wealthy homeowners. The Willis spread at 157 Aspen Lakes Drive boasts six bedrooms, seven baths on Flying Heart Lake with multiple ponds, flowing streams and a splashy custom pool with waterfalls. A massive foyer invites you to an open and spacious sunken living room boasting two rock fireplaces. The breakfast nook welcomes the morning rising sun with beautiful lake views. Demi must have cooked up a storm in the gourmet kitchen with Traulsen and two Sub-Zero refrigerators, Viking six-burner stove with dual ovens, two dishwashers, large pantry, glass cabinets, under counter lighting, and island with an eating bar. But the master suite really takes the cake: gas fireplace, romantic seating area, two heated decks, built in desk, and bookshelves. The master bath has a jetted soaking tub, granite shower, dual sinks, and custom built master closet with built-in dressers and shelves. (Do you think by soaking in the same tub as Demi, my cellulite will disappear?) There are heated balconies, gated entry, security system, intercom system, surround sound, control panel for the entire house, accent ceiling and under counter lighting, two wells and four boiler systems. It is also very convenient to Friedman Memorial Airport FBO.

Looking for something in Sun Valley a little less pricey? Here’s a 3058 square foot home built in 1990 with guest accommodations for only $770,000, reduced from $815,000. Four bedrooms, three and a half baths, main floor master, sun room, upstairs office nook and large laundry room in the Starweather Subdivision, a treed oasis of more than 140 acres of accessible riparian area, nature preserve, with multiple paths to river trails and superb fishing. Let deer, moose, bear, rabbits, ducks and owls be your neighbors,  15 minutes out of Ketchum. Of course, this home has a great master bath, but Demi never soaked here.
