Who here watches Bravo’s hit show Million Dollar Listing New York? I have to admit I’m guilty, too, so when one of my favorite brokers from the show, Ryan Serhant and The Serhant Team at Nest Seekers International sent me this incredible listing to share with you, I couldn’t wait to get it up on SecondShelters.com to give you the scoop.

First and foremost, let’s address what makes this two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath triplex a standout for the East Village – it has retractable walls, people! Yep, that’s right. Retractable walls! They open up to a massive garden oasis with a cabana – perfect for indoor-outdoor entertaining, and basically showing up your Instagram followers who will be green with envy.

The home is so special in fact, that it’s graced the cover of New York Magazine, was named Elle Decor’s “Pick of the World’s Most Beautiful Homes,” and was highlighted in the American Institute of Architects. (Welp, we’re sold.)

It affords a few hard-to-find features like 12-foot ceilings; a south-facing, 500-square-foot private garden; exposed brick; a handsome home office; rec room to get your sweat on; an elevator (score!); in-unit laundry; and of course, those fully retractable walls we can’t get enough of. One look at this seductive property video and you’ll be hooked.

Serhant tells us the East Village Triplex sold in 2014, and has since been completely redecorated to make a splash when it hit the market just last week. We see a young tech entrepreneur, or supermodel taking over this lavish NY crash pad and turning into their forever home. I mean, why would you ever want to leave?

We’re crushing on the super luxe kitchen, fully equipped with Viking appliances and 36-inch Sub-Zero fridge. Oh, and did we mention the custom lacquered cabinetry and countertops? Sleek, chic, and what all-white kitchen dreams are made of. As for the rest of the home, you’ll find it’s equally tricked out with no detail left unturned.

The property description reveals: “The upper level of the home contains a pair of spacious bedrooms, one of which is perhaps the most unique in all of New York City. The south-facing bedroom features a murphy bed and a sumptuous en-suite bathroom with motorized shades and a rain shower, while the north-facing bedroom — which can also act as a living room — has two floor-to-ceiling, sound-insulated windows, an aquarium that runs the width of the apartment, and, with the flip of a switch, a retractable wall that transforms the space into an indoor/outdoor living experience.”

Currently up for grabs at $4.2 million, it affords an unbeatable location just blocks to Union square with East Village shops, restaurants, bars, and cafes right out your front door. Several subway lines are in close proximity, plus you’ll enjoy keyless entry and a keyed elevator.

Curious what it’s like to live in the East Village? Google says: “The East Village is known for its happening nightlife. Old-school bars, music venues and performance spaces share the streets with posh cocktail lounges, hip restaurants. Daytime sees a more laid-back crowd browsing boutiques, vintage shops and tattoo parlors, and dining at casual cafes. Once the epicenter of the city’s punk scene, St. Mark’s Place now features of-the-moment fast-food eateries and souvenir shops.”

TimeOut New York describes the Manhattan hot spot as, “NYC’s neighborhood located east of Bowery between Houston and 14th Streets – a hot spot for everything from the newest restaurants to old-school record stores. Whether you head there during the day for a picnic at one of the best NYC Parks (we recommend Tompkins Square Park), shop its unique vintage clothing stores or choose one of its newly opened bars for a first date, the East Village is easy to get to from just about anywhere in Manhattan and Brooklyn (until the L train shuts down, that is).

If you’ve always dreamed of owning a quintessential New York address with sleek modern upgrades, in a prime location bursting with culture, action, and nightlife, this is it! Learn more about the incredible amenities – too many to list – and exquisite designer finishes here.
