Want to get away from the stresses of city life, maybe to a lovely lake community with recreational activities to please everyone in the family? Here ya’ go … The 505 Ranch on Cedar Creek Lake is located only 45 minutes away from Dallas. We’ve been following the luxury vacation home development set on a 505-acre working ranch on the shores of Cedar Creek Lake for a while now. Along with access to one of Texas largest lakes, the 505 Ranch offers a long list of amenities, not the least of which is a world-class caliber polo facility under construction, equine accommodations and trails, boat concierge services, and oh, so much more!
As of 2017’s year-end, the development is 77 percent sold, with 13 lots and a spec house remaining. The 505 Ranch hosted an event last fall, entertaining current and potential residents with a parade of homes, helicopter rides, skeet-shooting with a champion instructor, demos of the latest in ATVs, and more. Here’s the scoop on this lakeside ranch retreat just a hop, skip and a jump away from DFW, and how to connect …
The 32,623-acre lake affords boating, fishing, water skiing, paddle boarding, and swimming, with 505 Ranch staff at the ready to handle the work of owning a boat, so all you have to do is show up and have fun. There’s also a skeet and trap range, camping areas with tipis, stocked fishing ponds, trails for hiking, biking, and ATV traversing, a clubhouse with pool, and accommodations for guests.
“One can obtain a lot and wait as long as they like to build,” said Suzanne Warner of the Warner Group, a Coldwell Banker affiliate that represents the property. “All homes and lots are waterfront. Lot prices range from $325K to around $495K and are large, ranging from 1.1 to 3.8 acres. Homes must begin at 3,000 square feet and plans passed by architectural committee to maintain the standards of the community.”
The community’s ranch-style vernacular is exemplified in this home featured in a Parade of Homes Tour which took place during the November event. Here’s a look at the home’s exterior, front and back:
Guests at the event also toured the spec home for sale. Designed by renowned architect Jerry Coleman, the rustic-style, 4,863-square-foot, four-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bath home has an open kitchen, den, bunk room, and game room. It is situated on a heavily treed 1.6-acre lot with vast lake views, seen to advantage from the home’s wide patios and extensive screen porch overlooking the lake. Just completed, it’s listed at $1.995 million.
Equine accommodations make the lake community especially unique. “The ranch also has a full equestrian center,” said Warner. “The ranch lots can accommodate a stall with two horses or they can stall at the equestrian center. The HOA takes care of all of the trash and maintenance of the mass acreage and the dues are $1,365 a quarter. A new polo club is starting there and they are prepping the field as of this past weekend. The matches begin in March and it is a world-class facility. I will have my next event as a polo tailgating and tequila tasting event.”
Sounds like the place to be, come March (if not sooner).
