The Hualālai Canoe Club

News from the Hualālai Resort located on the Kona-Kohala Coast of Hawai‘i Island: The posh oceanfront hotel and private home community resort anchored by a five diamond Four Seasons on The Big Island just completed a multimillion dollar renovation of a key amenity, the Hualālai Canoe Club. Co-owned by Michael Dell, Hualālai Resort has attracted a who’s who of homeowners, including such business titans as Citadel founder Ken Griffin, Columbia Sportswear CEO Tim Boyle, Charles Schwab, Howard Schultz, and Bob Parsons, and continues to experience strong sales.

Real estate ownership options among more than 300 homes include single-family homes, home sites, and villas, ranging from $2 million to $30 million. Hualālai Club Membership is available exclusively to property owners and offers access to two 18-hole championship golf courses designed by golf legends Jack Nicklaus and Tom Weiskopf, each with its own clubhouse; the award-winning Hualālai Sports Club and Hualālai Spa; the Hualālai Canoe Club; the Hualālai Tennis Club; and a residents’ beach house. Membership also provides access to all amenities at Four Seasons Hualālai Resort. In an oceanfront setting of pristine white sand beaches and black lava landscapes, the hotel offers 243 guest rooms and suites housed in intimate two-story bungalows.

Here’s a look at what’s new and a home in this luxe resort community:

The Hualālai Canoe Club overlooks Uluweuweu Bay. The recent improvements included adding a second pool, more dining options and shaded lounge chairs, and lawn and activity areas. The Canoe Club serves as headquarters for Alaka‘i Nalu, the team that coordinates ocean activities at Hualālai: boating, fishing, marine-life-watching tours, canoeing, stand-up paddle boarding, snorkeling, and subwinging.

It’s part of the larger resort which is best seen via video:

Closings at Hualālai Resort for 2017 totaled more than $120 million and included 16 villas and 13 homes. Momentum has continued into 2018 with three closings in January, as well as two homes now under construction.

Here’s a new listing near the Hualālai Canoe Club, which illustrates where homeownership at Hualālai begins. Wailulu Villa, 119A, a two-bedroom, two-bath property listed at $1.695 million has 1,868 square feet of interior space and a 467-square foot lanai. It overlooks the fifth fairway of the Ke‘olu Golf Course. Large pocket doors afford seamless access to the lanai with a built-in barbecue. A short golf cart ride away are the Hualālai Canoe Club and the Four Seasons Resort amenities.

“We are thrilled to see strong momentum and increased activity on property,” said Rob Kildow, director of sales for Hualālai Realty. “Approximately one-third of our annual sales are attributed to our members, and we feel that speaks volumes to the passion of our team in helping buyers start their legacies here with their families. Part of what makes Hualālai unique is contained in this quote from one of our members: ‘It’s the place that brought me here, but it’s the people who keep me coming back.’ With over 1,300 employees, Hualālai remains committed to delivering an exceptional and sincere level of service and experiences to all that call it home. When you pair that commitment with an amenity package that is unequaled in the state, you have something very unique, Hualālai.”
