It all started with a big idea – to create a luxury lake front community close to Dallas with all the comforts of home, but without all the maintenance. A place where you can unplug, unwind, and enjoy time with your family and friends. That place is Long Cove, the brainchild of Dallas’ own Don McNamara, developer and investor behind Cityplace and West Village in Uptown. Inspired by getaways like those of Seaside, Watercolor, and Horseshoe Bay, the folks at Long Cove bring those memorable experiences closer to home, spanning more than 1,000 acres, and boasting six miles of shoreline at the clear, deep end of Cedar Creek Reservoir – and it just keeps getting better with newly developed Henderson Bay.

In 2017 they completed several developments, Henderson Bay being the most significant, and just announced another major coup – their partnership with award-winning Stocker Hoesterey Montenegro Architects, and renowned Dallas builder, Robert Elliott Custom Homes. The two have teamed up to bring the new 40-acre cove and park to life, offering both Harbor Front and Lake Homes with exceptional amenities, including hiking trails, floating docks on the lake, canoeing, kayaking, and iron ore trails that connect all of the neighborhoods.

“Robert is not only a Long Cove homeowner and friend, but was the natural choice for a partnership in the design and construction of the various luxury residences being offered,” says David Camp, vice president of sales for Long Cove. “It was important that Long Cove transcend its level of quality to the mid-century modern residences anticipated for Henderson Bay. And, who better to build them than Robert, and who better to design them than David Stocker? Only the best for our community!”

Long Cove differentiates itself from other communities by offering reasonable Dallas proximity, extensive owner services via a private club, endless access to thoughtful family amenities, and the chance to make friends and memories that last a lifetime. SMH architect David Stocker tells us the inspiration for the homes stems from a contemporary version of a classic east Texas lake house/fishing lodge.

“There are some great old fishing clubs in East Texas,” he says. “They are made of wood siding and have great natural light. We are not trying to replicate. We are trying to look at the feel in a more contemporary way. We like to say ‘It’s not your parent’s lake house.’ It’s not dark, dreary, or smells like old fish. It’s cool and with it.” In fact, Stocker says the “lake lifestyle” was the most important element in the design.

“Family, friends, and fun. Kitchens that celebrate the joy of preparing and eating food together. Living spaces that are sized and situated to enjoy time together with the bonus of the view. Master suites that have a spa-like feel when you just need your time,” he explains. “It’s a really good plan that we think works great for the lake lifestyle. I think people will see how their own style in furnishings, window treatments, and accents will customize to individual looks.”

The Harbor Front Homes offer two-story townhome-styles ranging from 2,500 to 3,000 square feet, boasting dynamic views of the Henderson Bay Harbor and the iconic Hennybay Bridge, priced from $750,000 to $900,000 depending on homesite and floor plan selection. The contemporary Lake Homes are located on the shores of Cedar Creek Lake with floor plans ranging from 3,500 to 5,000-square-feet, priced from $1.5 to $2.5 million based on lot and home package selection.

“There is a team of executives onsite daily, available to help any family explore the opportunities Long Cove has to offer,” adds Camp. “We work hard, so you don’t have to.”

Long Cove is hosting a Lake Home Sales Event this Saturday, March 31st  on Cedar Creek Lake from 9 a.m. t0 6 p.m. To “try before you buy,” Long Cove is now offering three-day, two-night Stay & Play packages. These “hands on, shoes off experiences” start at $895. For more information call 214-220-9992.
