Megadeth, Mega Luxury: Guitarist Lists Tennessee Home

Share News:

Megadeth guitarist and lead vocalist Dave Mustaine has listed his Franklin, Tennessee, equestrian estate for just shy of $2.5 million, Variety reported last week.

If “metal guitarist sells equestrian estate” seems like a sentence that would be the product one of those refrigerator magnet games, rest assured Mustaine’s 10-acre property is indeed the real deal, and really luxurious.

Mustaine, who in addition to fronting Megadeth was also the original guitarist for Metallica, bought the property about five years ago for $1.8 million.

The guitarist and singer was Metallica’s lead guitarist from 1981 to 1983. Since its formation in 1984, Megadeth has released 16 albums.

Even headbangers need a quiet respite, and this home offers it, from the long driveway to the home that provides privacy, to the 6,800 square foot elegant ranch house with three bedrooms and four full baths.

The African Paduak hardwood floors are throughout the home, from the family room with a vintage brick fireplace to the gorgeous kitchen with its faux-distressed cabinetry, granite counters, and designer appliances.

The master retreat has a private sitting room, large bedroom, dual bathrooms and a private patio.

Both guest bedrooms have en suite bathrooms and sitting rooms.

Two opulent dining areas, a reading loft with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, a gym, and an office/recording studio also provide plenty of amenities.

The property also boasts everything a horse-lover would need, including a 60 foot by 60 foot barn with four horse stalls and a shed, and plenty of land to ride.

The home is listed by Diane Born with Benchmark Realty. To see more, click here. To see the story in Variety, click here.
