Steamboat’s premier luxury ranch community offers experiences money can’t buy. In fact, ski enthusiasts from across the globe flock to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, to experience firsthand its world-famous Champagne Powder. But what many second-home owners may not realize is all the off-piste experiences that can be found in this community-rich town.

“The sense of community and its Western heritage is so strong here,” says longtime resident and Director of Sales at Alpine Mountain Ranch & Club, Suzanne Schlicht. “Yes, the Ski Resort is incredible, we do get amazing snow and lots of sunny days between storms, but it’s the community and hidden adventures found outside the resort that sets Steamboat apart.”

Opportunities to experience these ‘off-piste’ adventures are available at Steamboat’s exclusive Alpine Mountain Ranch & Club.

The 1,200-acre land preservation community is ideally located just seven minutes from Downtown Steamboat. Even better, it sits five minutes from Steamboat’s world-class ski resort.

And amenities abound at the Ranch! But one in particular puts owners directly in the heart of the winter action.

The exclusive option to join Alpine Mountain Summit Club. This private social club is just steps from the newly updated gondola that is the “Club” in Alpine Mountain Ranch & Club.

“Alpine Mountain Summit Club is located within One Steamboat Place,” Schlicht says, “It offers valet parking, private ski lockers, boot-warmers, ski storage, daily après ski, and more. And it’s just steps from the ski slopes.”

Historically, membership to the Summit Club was only open to condo owners at One Steamboat Place. However, in 2018, Alpine Mountain Ranch took ownership of the club. It now offers ranch owners the exclusive option to join this slopeside club.

Back at the Ranch, there are plenty of activities that add to that charmed Steamboat experience.

Rolling pastures, which serve as home to livestock in the summer, transform into 220 acres of snowy wonderland as winter sets in, with three miles of groomed trails for cross country skiing or snowshoeing, as well as a groomed tubing hill for ultra-thills.

“Winter ranch activities run out of the heated Owners’ barn, which feels like a luxurious set of a country western film,” Schlicht continued.

In the coming weeks, AMRC is planning a pair of exquisite gatherings aimed at building community, camaraderie, and showcasing what the Ranch is all about. The first is “Wild Game, Whiskey and Wine.” This will feature tapas plates of game harvested from the area. On February 21, AMRC will host a Spanish Wine dinner in the Owners’ Barn. It will feature the first tasting in the US of a rare, single-vineyard, 100-point wine, called Artadi.

“At AMRC, we host unique, authentic events that you can’t go to a restaurant and buy,” Schlicht says.

Steamboat’s AMRC is divided into 63, 5-acre parcels, with 900 acres specifically designated as wildlife preserve.

Owners have access to a private 1.5-mile stretch of the Yampa River, renowned for its trout fishing. There’s also an on-site lake for fishing, paddle boarding, or relaxing on the dock. The barn houses equestrian facilities in the summer. And there’s an owners’ lodge and a guest cabin as well. There’s also a new Design Build program at AMRC to make the home design and building process easier on the owner.
