You’ll Want to Permanently Escape to This Glam Getaway on Lake Tyler

Bridgett and Harley Hooper are longtime Tyler residents. They are owners of a shopping center that houses their restaurant, Villaggio del Vino, and their eponymous high-end fashion emporiums Harley’s and Bridgette’s.

So, it’s not surprising their glam getaway on Lake Tyler reflects their always on-point taste and style.

After hiring Dallas architect Michael Malone with Malone Maxwell Dennehy to design their stores’ interiors, they searched for a residential architect to transform their lake property. They circled back to Malone, who is known for his contemporary architecture. Harley wanted something entirely different from their traditional home in town. 

“I wanted a contemporary look, so I would feel like I was going on vacation 20 hours away, not just 20 minutes away,” Harley said.  “Everything in there would have been white if it had been left to me, but I have a talented wife!”

Bridgette brought the glam and the color, starting with a custom green leather sectional and working the color scheme around it.

Malone gutted the 2,722-square-foot, two-bedroom, two-bathroom house to the studs. Then the team reimagined and reinvented this home with ease of entertaining at the top of the list.

“Harley and Bridgette wanted to be able to entertain here year-round,” Malone said. “We reconfigured the house to be one large shared living space with the kitchen as an anchor and gabled the ceiling over the center of the living area.”

And Voila, with Bridgette’s flair for design, the glam getaway, perfect for entertaining, was born. And entertain they do. Harley told me they’ve easily had 75 people in their here with plenty of room for more!

“It was really a wonderful transformation,” Malone said. It’s a terrific house, and I’d move there tomorrow if I could!”
