Well. Christmas is here and we’re still dealing with COVID-19. Who would’ve thought back in early March when the virus was a distant problem, a periphery story on the news, that our lives would be massively affected up until Christmas and beyond?
Many of us are not seeing family or traveling as we usually would this year, but if you want a change of scenery to celebrate Christmas with your immediate family this crazy year, we’ve rounded up some cozy cabin Airbnbs in Texas that still have availability for the holidays.
Cozy Cabin in Waco
This little cabin imbues a sense of hominess and warm. It’s just a 12-minute drive to the interior design lover’s mecca, Magnolia. There’s just one bedroom (with a king size bed), but the listing says the house can comfortably accommodate six people with it’s sofa bed and floor mattress.
The walk-in shower and freestanding bathtub add an indulgent touch. Perhaps this Christmas could involve a little self care? I’m just saying that a bathtub like that pairs well with a glass of wine and a face mask.
Airbnb Plus in Houston
This B&B is light and bright with a rave-reviewed sectional couch we wouldn’t mind cozying up on for the holidays. Perfect for a couple’s getaway, it’s a one-bed, one-bath, one-bed.
Clearly, this home’s thoughtful and modern design contributes to its exalted designation as “Airbnb Plus.” There are hot pink splashes of modern art on the wall, a plump yellow love seat in the bedroom and an upstairs formal dining area– great for Christmas dinner. It even has a bar, conveniently located near the dining table, for after-dinner digestifs.
Historic Cabin in Fredericksburg
We can think of much worse places to celebrate the holidays then amongst the vineyards of Texas wine country. Aside from being known for its amazing vino, Fredericksburg is known for its historic German roots and adorable cottages.
This Airbnb cabin is a few blocks from the action of Main Street. While the architecture itself is historic, the interior is new and fresh– designed by one of Fredericksburg’s top interior designers.
Chic Cabin at Lake Travis
This self-proclaimed “chic cabin” near Lake Travis takes the classic lake cabin and gives it a contemporary twist. There’s a sleek, raised fireplace (perfect for pinning stockings over) and beautiful abstract art on the walls.
Throw in the spacious walk in shower and the outdoor grill… you have a place to call home for the holidays.
