Sometimes, the Wednesday WTF is the Wednesday WTF because it’s a crazy ball of lunacy. But sometimes, as in the case of this week’s cave house, it’s because it’s pretty freaking’ cool.

Meet the Beckham Creek Cave Lodge. Tucked into the tiny unincorporated community of Parthenon, Arkansas, and the Little Buffalo River, it currently serves as a private resort that caters to weddings, family reunions, corporate retreats, and the like. (more…)

Hi, do you like going on vacation and waking up and achieving that terrifying feeling that you’re about to plumb fall off a mountain? I mean, if you’re a longtime reader of the Wednesday WTF, you probably will say yes because you have a perverse fascination with things that are fascinatingly messed up, so you probably know where this is going.

Meet the Skylodge Adventure Suites, where you can sleep hanging off of a Peruvian cliff, encased in a glass pod. As best as I can tell, you climb a mountain and then sleep in a pod.

Sometimes, when doing research for another story, you go down a rabbit hole at 3 a.m. and find another listing that sends you down another rabbit hole of WTF in Utah and then suddenly it’s 5 a.m. and your caffeine consumption for the next day puts your heart rate somewhere around hummingbird wings and over-sugared toddlers.

This week’s Wednesday WTF is one of those situations. You see, I’ve found you a whole damned town.

Listen, sometimes the Wednesday WTF over on CandysDirt.com is one of those things where you’re recoiling and scared. Sometimes induces incredulity. But sometimes, it’s just so damned magical you just have to embrace it, because anything else is just incomprehensible.

This is one of those weeks. Check out this house near Orlando that is just magical.

Hey, do you want to buy a lodge? A really, really big lodge? What if we told you it’s been on the market since 2015? What if we told you that it was initially listed for $40 million, but had a price reduction last year and can now be yours for a cool 20 million American dollars?

Come take a look at our Wednesday WTF, an irreverent look at real estate and home decor.

As most everyone knows, we are all about The Vacation over here. I mean, we’re pretty obvious about it. But over on our parent site, CandysDirt.com, we have a weekly feature called the Wednesday WTF. This week, we’re not talking about the charming abodes we see on SecondShelters.com.

We’re talking about something else entirely. These three hotels we’ve chosen for today’s WTF are um, an acquired taste. If you have acquired this taste, then we applaud your adventurous spirit and love of sodium.

Come check it out.
